Four hundred and fifty years ago at the Radha-Damodara temple, Rupa Gosvami, and then Jiva Gosvami, regularly taught the principles of pure devotion to a group of Vaisnavas, who congregated there from all over India. Following in their footsteps, Srila Prabhupada tried to erect a Vaisnava school on Radha-Damodara’s land. Srila Prabhupada wanted to establish an “ISKCON Bhagavat College” – a University for ISKCON.
To accomplish the above mission, ISKCON Bhagavata Mahavidyalaya aims to provide a facility for its members to study, practice, and disseminate the teachings of Srimad Bhagavatam, along with the writings of the Gaudiya Vaisnava acaryas and the branches of Vedic philosophy, culture, music and science in the context of Srila Prabhupada’s teachings.
It is very important for devotees to learn the Gaudiya Vaishnava philosophy and principles in a very deep way so that our faith is fixed, and we can propagate the message of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu all over the world.
The institute aims at creating a wonderful environment and eco-system for the deep immersion into the study of Srimad Bhagavatam, the highest philosophy by which one can develop the love of God.
I wish all the students studying at the ISKCON Bhagavata Mahavidyalaya to flourish in the years to come and become wonderful instruments in the hands of Srila Prabhupada.
